We’re searching for an effective leader to join our IT division as our newest Manager, Analytics and Data Science. In this role, you will report into the Director, BIA and work closely with business stakeholders, such as Marketing, Sales, and Operations, to optimize performance and inspire innovation. You will lead data science teams and initiatives, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, and enable Aurora to make strategic decisions to improve the consumer and patient experience with cannabis. As the Manager, Analytics and Data Science you will…

  • Lead a team of Data Analysts to develop dashboards and reports
  • Support the development of the team by conducting performance reviews and defining career goals and objectives
  • Act as a subject matter expert in data analytics to actively provide recommendations for opportunities and efficiencies
  • Optimize and monitor a growing portfolio of PowerBI and Sage reports to ensure timely report delivery and overall reliability
  • Develop, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure business needs are addressed and strategic initiatives are supported
  • Lead the team to identify business objectives, gather requirements from stakeholders, and translate requirements into user stories
  • Establish best practices in KPI design and visual data storytelling to ensure report consistency while delivering visually striking, yet simple reports
  • Participate in planning and designing dimensional models that create the base of applicable reporting solution while allowing for self-serve model deployment
  • Collaborate with the Data Engineering and Master Data Mgmt. teams to support Data Warehouse developments and management programs
  • Perform data cleansing, transformation, exploration, analysis, and visualization
  • Facilitate day-to-day activities including extracting and merging data from sources, filtering data requests, conducting in-depth analytics with statistical techniques and managing legacy ML models and pipelines
     

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • Post-secondary education in Computing Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar disciplines
  • 8 + years of relevant work experience in analytics and 3 + years of people leadership experience (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Prior work experience navigating various data sets and projects, and database systems including data warehouses and multi-dimensional analytic solutions
  • Outstanding skills in Microsoft technologies including SQL Server, Power BI, Power Apps and MS T-SQL with the ability to write complex queries
  • Working knowledge of Azure cloud services for data analytics, such as Azure SQL, Data Factory, Functions, Data Lake, and experience with Google Analytics, ArcGIS
  • Proficiency in Python with practical knowledge of common libraries for data manipulation and predictive analytics (Pandas, PySpark, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib and similar)
