Job summary
We’re searching for a motivated leader to join our team as our newest Manager, Enterprise Risk and Insurance. In this role, you be a key leader within our Compliance, Risk and Assurance (CRA) Team and be responsible for facilitating and overseeing governance programs such as enterprise risk management, compliance and corporate insurance programs and policies, including management and administration of Aurora’s captive insurance program. As the Manager, Enterprise Risk and Insurance you will…
- Manage the organizations existing insurance programs and policies to address identified risks by liaising with business partners to collect updated, complete and accurate information for insurance policy requirements, and overseeing the placement and renewal of policies
- Act as the day-to-day point of contact for our external insurance stakeholders including our broker, Captive program manager and Segregated cell program manager
- Facilitate the organization’s enterprise risk assessment process and quarterly risk updates, including reporting cyclical reporting to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Audit Committee of the Board
- Lead select enterprise risk management strategic projects and initiatives, as identified through the annual risk assessment process and defined in the Risk-Based Audit and Advisory Plan
- Conduct process, location or region-specific risk assessments to aide with the mitigation, management, transfer and avoidance of critical risks
- Oversee insurance claims process, working with all levels of the business to identify issues with risk management based on any real claims or ‘close calls’
- Collaborate with the Compliance, Risk and Assurance Team to identify areas of opportunity or control gaps with respect to improving the organization’s governance, risk management and internal control frameworks
You will be setup for success if you have…
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
- Relevant risk management designation(s), such as CRM, CRMA, or CIA
- Strong knowledge of corporate insurance requirements in a public company and manufacturing environment with multiple physical locations, and offices placed internationally including Canada, the US, and Europe
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in insurance and advisory services, such as providing consulting services on appropriate insurance strategies, acting in a broker capacity to place insurance policies in-market, or managing insurance policies on behalf of large and/or public companies in similar size and scope to Aurora (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the field of risk management, facilitating the identification, assessment, mitigation and management of risks in key areas such as operations, regulatory compliance, legal, financial, strategy, and corporate enterprise-level risks
