Travel into local facilities, including but not limited to Toronto, Bradford, Brampton, Markham or Jarvis, will be required on a weekly basis and the location / frequency is subject to change depending on business needs. Travel across Canada may be required at times

We’re searching for a dynamic professional to join our IT Division in the role of Manager, IT Operations. In this role, you will have opportunity to demonstrate your strong leadership skills and extensive technical experience by leading our team that supports all of Aurora’s infrastructure, including network, storage, servers, phone systems, cloud-based infrastructure, and our helpdesk and desktop services. As the Manager, IT Operations you will…

  • Report to the Director IT, Operations & Supply Chain regarding all aspects of assigned projects, ongoing operational activities, and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee multi-platform data center operations, server, storage, and network infrastructure
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team that analyzes and resolves a wide variety of technical issues from desktops, infrastructure, to large business systems
  • Plan, develop, and optimize IT infrastructure in local and remote environments and coordinate with the Project Management Office for project delivery assignments
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate status for incidents and problems from inception to resolution, including root cause analysis
  • Drive continuous improvement and process automation for monitoring services and internal processes that encompass the completion of systems requests and production incidents
  • Participate in regular auditing to meet compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and maintain our corporate backup and replication infrastructure, global cloud (AWS / Azure) infrastructure, global network and VOIP phone system
  • Monitor and report on network and system performance and bandwidth requirements and provide proactive solutions for improvements and problems
  • Lead refresh and upgrade work requests for infrastructure and end-user equipment
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for various IT systems, networks, procedures, policies, and standards
  • Measure IT performance through customer satisfaction surveys and report to IT senior management
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of service desk processes using the ITIL framework. This includes but is not limited to the employee journey, technical change management, request management, incident, and problem management
  • Act as a senior technical resource and escalation point for front-line IT support resources
  • Develop, manage, and control team expenditures against the operating and capital budgets
     

As an experienced professional you will have…

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as a Degree in Computer Science
  • 10 years of experience in the IT industry with large enterprise experience
  • 5 years of experience managing, coaching and leading IT operational teams in fast-paced environments
  • Strong background in various technical areas including: the NIST, CIS Top 18, information security best practices, linking business process and the application of technology, computer imaging and software packaging, cloud environments / systems, working with business stakeholders to define SLAs and administrating MS Office tools, Windows and Mac operating systems (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Diverse experience with a wide array of IT infrastructures, processes and activities including: VOIP phone systems (including call center technology), SD-WAN technologies, hyperconverged infrastructure and server administration, Mobile Device Management software, enterprise ticketing systems (ServiceNow) and network administration, user and security group administration and establishing controls based on regulatory requirements (GDPR, SOX, and PCI-DSS)
     

Bonus points if you have…

  • An ITIL certification
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and experience with Juniper and Aruba networks and working on an enterprise service desk
