Job Summary
The PMO IT Lead is responsible for shaping and sustaining the governance framework, standards and processes that enable disciplined and predictable IT project delivery across Aurora Cannabis Inc. Reporting to the Director, IT Service Management and Security, this role ensures that project intake, portfolio planning, risk assessment and resource coordination operate cohesively to support organizational priorities. The PMO IT Lead equips project managers and delivery teams with structured methodologies, practical guidance and performance tools that strengthen execution quality and promote alignment with business objectives and strategic outcomes.
This role maintains oversight of project performance reporting, health metrics and compliance expectations, ensuring that leadership has clear and timely visibility into progress, risks and dependencies. The PMO IT Lead also champions continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to refine processes, enhance collaboration and strengthen accountability across the IT delivery ecosystem. Through these efforts, the role helps build a culture of consistency, transparency and operational excellence throughout the IT project portfolio.

PMO Leadership and Governance
• Oversee the IT PMO function and ensure governance practices are consistently followed across all IT projects.
• Maintain and evolve IT PMO standards, frameworks, methodologies and lifecycle processes.
• Lead IT SDLC project governance and ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, controls and best practices, including alignment with the IT General Control Framework.
• Lead SDLC process walkthroughs as part of the annual SOX audit and support audit readiness throughout the year.
• Manage project documentation, templates, knowledge repositories and related PMO assets.
• Drive adoption of project management best practices and ensure project teams have the tools needed for success.
Project Intake, Planning and Portfolio Management
• Own and manage the project intake process, including evaluating new initiatives, categorizing project types, identifying business value and assessing constraints, assumptions, risks, resource needs, budgets, scope and timelines.
• Ensure appropriate project categorization according to Investment Council recommendations such as Growth or Maintenance.
• Build and maintain the PMO roadmap and strategic plan for the IT portfolio.
• Support portfolio prioritization, demand planning and capacity management.
• Assess and approve project setup within timesheet and financial systems and oversee timesheet approvals for all IT project resources.
Performance Monitoring, Reporting and Financial Management
• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards that track project performance, risks, dependencies, capacity, resource utilization and budget allocation across CAPEX and OPEX.
• Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting using Stop Light Methodology or similar approaches.
• Work closely with Finance and Procurement teams to manage project financials, forecasts and expenditures.
• Provide data driven and fact based insights on overall project portfolio health to senior leadership.
Project Delivery Support
• Provide direction, coaching and mentorship to project managers and delivery teams on PMO processes, tools and compliance expectations.
• Support project managers in solving project issues, removing roadblocks and escalating risks appropriately.
• Ensure IT projects meet required timeline, budget and quality expectations while maintaining alignment with business goals.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of contractors to meet project resourcing needs.
• Maintain strong working relationships with business partners to support transparency, collaboration and customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement
• Continuously evaluate PMO processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, delivery consistency and project outcomes.
• Support change management practices and business process optimization within IT.
• Collaborate with senior IT leadership to ensure long term alignment of IT initiatives with corporate strategy.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
- Professional Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in IT project management, PMO leadership or a related role
- Experience leading project portfolios within an enterprise IT environment.
- Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience in SDLC project governance, compliance requirements and audit processes, including SOX.
- Experience with financial management of CAPEX and OPEX budgets for IT initiatives.
- Experience building reporting dashboards and providing data driven portfolio health insights.
- Experience working with cross functional teams, senior leaders, external vendors and third party contractors.

- Strong knowledge of project and portfolio management principles, frameworks and best practices.
- Solid understanding of IT operations, service delivery functions and the relationship between operational processes and project outcomes.
- Knowledge of systems development life cycle processes, governance and compliance expectations, including SOX and IT General Controls.
- Familiarity with business case development, financial modeling and budgeting principles for IT initiatives.
- Good understanding of change management, stakeholder engagement and business process optimization.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and IT service management tools.
- Knowledge of data analysis methods to support risk assessment, prioritization and decision making.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor and influence project managers and technical resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way.
- Skilled in building dashboards, reports and visualizations that support transparency and data driven decisions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify issues, assess impacts and propose effective solutions.
- Skilled in facilitation, meeting management and conflict resolution.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, JIRA and Microsoft Office applications.
- Skilled at managing competing priorities and maintaining accuracy in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across IT, business units and senior leadership.
- Ability to assess maturity levels of project teams and introduce practices that improve consistency and performance.
- Ability to anticipate risks, develop mitigation strategies and drive accountability for follow through.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism.
- Ability to adapt quickly, embrace change and lead teams through evolving priorities.
- Ability to work autonomously while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
