Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting you will be responsible for managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. As the Senior Accountant you will…

    • Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
    • Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and month-end/year-end closings.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliation of accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
    • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
    • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting
    • department.
    • Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
    • Ad hoc duties as required.

 

You will be setup for success if you have…

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
    • 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
    • Previous experience in a supervisory or senior role in accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end closing
    • processes.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
    • Experience in audit support and working with auditors is advantageous.
    • Accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance.

    • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
    • Ability to balance urgency with accuracy in incident management and stakeholder communications.
