PLANT WORK SHIFT LEAD


Whistler Medical Marijuana Corporation, a subsidiary of Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for a Shift Lead to work with our cultivation team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing team members and day to day activities. This position is located in Pemberton, BC. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee worker productivity to ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively and production goals are met. 
  • Provide ongoing feedback and direction as work is performed and assist in addressing any employee conflicts
  • Promote happy employees and effective workflows. Set performance metrics for each team member and then work with team members to make sure that all metrics are met
  • Arrange and organize manpower for the day and ensure proper shift coverage (e.g. when employees take time off)
  • Check equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area. If equipment breaks, the leader coordinates with the Supervisor to order repairs
  • Ensure that the workplace is safe and clean. This includes reviewing and enforcing all WorkSafe and OHS standards and policies. 
  • Revise, understand, and follow all SOPs and related forms to GMP standards
  • Complete and fill all incident reports and accident reports and reporting all violations of safety and other policies
  • Complete all required documentation (manual and electronic) including Log Books, Batch 
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety

  • Knowledge of plant cultivation, plant lifecycle or cannabis is valued

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience leading a diverse team
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Experience in the cannabis industry, in a manufacturing or production environment considered an asset 
  • Knowledge or basic understanding of GMP standards and SOP’s considered an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines and ensure department goals are achieved
  • Accurately follow instructions, complete forms and paperwork as required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work weekends as required to support operational requirements
