Our Aurora Sun facility, located in Medicine Hat, AB, is currently looking to hire a Propagation Team Lead to join our team. The incumbent will report directly to the Lead Cultivator.

*Note: For training purposes the successful candidate may be required to spend up to the first month of their employment at the Aurora Sky facility near Edmonton, AB, and/or, travelling between Sun and Sky as necessary.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Lead Cultivator and other operations Managers to formulate and execute clear Propagation Team goals
  • Communicate deadlines and goals to Shift Leads and support their achievement
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and organize workflow to meet targets and deadlines
  • Develop strategies to promote Team Member adherence to company regulations and performance goals
  • Conduct Team meetings to update staff on best practices and continuing expectations
  • Review and summarize the Shift Leads’ Mother Room and Propagation Room reports
  • Generate and distribute reports on team performance, mission-related objectives, and deadlines
  • Report concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to the Lead Cultivator
  • Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing, Production, Buyer, Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues
  • Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements (e.g. deviation, change control, batch record, room log book)
  • Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and training of new Team Members
  • Manage schedules for employees, verifying employees’ attendance, leaves and disciplinary issues.
  • Carry out performance reviews
  • Assist with conflict resolution and employee relations issues within the teams
  • Provide technical and management support for the Propagation Team when the Lead Cultivator is out of the office



  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory or management experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills including effective prioritization and follow-up
  • ‪Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively and work well under pressure and tight timelines
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Ability to foster a friendly and efficient work environment, motivating others to meet goals
  • Ability to supervise a team of individuals and address any areas of concern with respect to performance or processes
