QUALITY ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE, Sun

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Associate to join our Sun facility, located in Medicine Hat, AB. The incumbent will report directly to the Manager, Quality Assurance on site, and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

*Note: For training purposes the successful candidate may be required to spend up to the first three weeks (approximately) of their employment at the Aurora Sky facility near Edmonton, AB, or, travelling between Sun and other Aurora facilities as necessary.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Represents QA as an ambassador for Cannabis Regulation compliance with respect to GMP/GPP and company SOPs
  • Responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of quality procedures
  • Conducts training sessions for staff related to SOPs and general operational procedures (GMP/GPP)
  • Performs Annual Product Review
  • Tracks metrics around compliance and efficiency and recommends measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Participates in self inspection process
  • Conducts sanitation and pest control review to ensure compliance
  • Completes secondary batch review and all required follow up
  • CAPA review and approval, including documentation and investigation of non-conformances leading to identification of the root cause; Assigns and implements an effective corrective and preventative action to promote continuous improvement
  • Compiles complaint summaries and necessary investigations
  • Responsible for quality assurance aspects of raw material control system
  • Works closely with production to ensure compliance is maintained
  • Assists operational departments in drafting and writing SOPs that comply with the Cannabis Regulation and GMP
  • Participates in both internal and external audits as required
  • Assists Manager, QA as required in oversight of the facility’s compliance

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • 3-5 years' experience in the Quality Assurance Field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals, food, or natural health product manufacturing
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems including: batch record review, batch release, document control, change control, deviations, investigations and CAPA
  • Highly proficient with computers (MS Office Suite) and adept at learning new systems is a must
  • Incumbent must have initiative, drive and desire to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Accountable for results, strives to meet and exceed expectations
  • Competency of technological writing (SOPs, Annual Reports, Investigation Summary)
  • Ability to work independently, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to an evolving environment
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written
