GOVERNMENT RELATIONS ANALYST

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently seeking a Government Relations Analyst to join our Saskatoon Team. Reporting to the National Director of Government Relations, the Government Relations Analyst role will collaborate with management in coordinating legislative efforts with all levels of government and further monitoring, analyzing and presenting any new legislative changes that present impacts on business operations. The successful candidate should be self-motivated, able to handle multiple issues and tasks at any given time, have a very positive and upbeat attitude and enjoy working in a team environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with the National Director of Government Relations and Government Relations Manager in coordinating legislative efforts by working with local, provincial, and federal governments
  • Monitor, analyze and present to management any new legislative changes that may impact business operations
  • Provide strategic analysis and advice on complex policy issues, including conducting research and drafting succinct briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct analysis and evaluations of various options and strategies
  • Respond to external stakeholder requests in a timely manner and brief management as required
  • Coordinate and attend government relations stakeholder meetings
  • Identify, analyze, and track legislation and regulations throughout the provinces and countries for which our business operates
  • Participate in industry groups focused on federal and provincial legislative activity

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, political science, communications or related discipline,
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a related role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Previous experience collaborating with different levels of Government as strong asset
  • Knowledge of the Cannabis industry considered a strong asset
  • Bilingual, English and French preferred (spoken and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and collaborate on projects
