Aurora is looking to add someone to our procurement team as a Senior Buyer, Construction at our Bradford Facility. Reporting directly to the Director of Procurement and working with our VP of Strategic Projects. 



  • Oversee and assist in the procurement and distribution of construction supplies and equipment purchases
  • Research products, ensures there is contract compliance, ensures order confirmation, and negotiate with vendor
  • Assist with product handling such as product substitution, product transportation and storage, and inventory management and ordering
  • Apply substantial knowledge of the job and experience to complete a wide range of activities with varying difficulty
  • Work on assignments that will require judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
  • Coordinate acquisition of supplies or services related to Aurora construction projects.
  • Assure proper authorization is obtained for requested purchases
  • Facilitate PO requests for procurement
  • Oversee and assists in the purchasing of construction supplies
  • Coordinate capital and non-capital purchases in accordance to Finance and Supply Chain guidelines
  • Perform product research and pricing as needed by department.
  • Assist in product evaluation and the cost analysis
  • Prepare corporate audit work papers relating to accounts payable and year-end entries and report
  • Analyze tenders and select the most competitive quote taking into account, delivery, cost, quality and performance
  • Review sub-contractor orders and associated warranty documents
  • Handle invoice verification on new supply set ups (verify rates and any miscellaneous charges)
  • Handle monthly reporting for construction procurement categories
  • Problem solving technical procurement and relationship issues
  • Enter specifications and monitoring order status through our procurement system
  • Provide first-rate customer service to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and evaluating supplier performance related to price, quality and service
  • Travel is required



  • 5-7 years project procurement, supply chain, and/or general contractor experience
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; knowledge of ERP software highly preferred
  • Ability to excel in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires a fast learner and flexible thinker
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with different deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Desire and ability to take full ownership of projects and produce high quality work
  • Strong work ethic with excellent organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player; able to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
