Aurora Cannabis Inc.’s Vancouver Office is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join their Corporate Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will work collaboratively to support the Company’s business strategies as it relates to financial accounting, controls, and reporting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive team looking to take its next steps in transforming into a high-performing group! 



  • Assist with month-end closings including account analyses, account reconciliations, and preparation of key continuity schedules; 

  • Assist with the preparation of detailed financial analysis of financial statement accounts (including detailed variance analysis); 

  • Support the preparation of monthly consolidated results, quarterly & annual external financial statements (including note disclosures) and Management’s Discussion & Analysis (“MD&A”); 

  • Prepare journal entries as necessary; 

  • Assist with quarterly reviews and year-end audits; 

  • Provide cross functional assistance to other teams to support new and ongoing business initiatives; 

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement on current processes and help implement recommendations; 

  • Ensure internal controls for responsible areas are performed in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (“SOX”); 

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as needed. 



  • Either working towards or has obtained professional accounting designation (CA, CGA or CMA) 

  • 4+ years experience of relevant accounting experience  

  • Public company accounting experience is preferred 

  • Experience in account reconciliations, preferably in settings with multiple entities across different currencies 

  • Process-oriented 

  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills in a deadline-driven environment 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills‬ 

  • Attention to detail with an analytical mindset 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Sound business acumen
