Aurora is recruiting a Director of Consumer Sales to oversee the provinces of Ontario and Manitoba. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic sales plans, establishing and sourcing company sales and for initiating sales growth as we expand our business in our Central region. The Director of Sales will be accustomed to developing relationships with key stakeholders and partners both internal and external within the industry to promote Aurora’s objectives.

 

DIRECTOR OF CONSUMER SALES (Central)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Build senior level relationships (C-level; Director, VP) with provincial cannabis boards in Ontario and Manitoba
  • Develop strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with provincial partners  
  • Work closely with Category Management and Marketing teams to build product pitches and secure listings for new product launches through both provincial and key accounts.
  • Manage the weekly sales process with key provincial contacts to ensure that provinces are bringing in the necessary volumes to support Aurora’s growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to further promote Aurora products with our provincial partners and work with other Aurora stakeholders and external sales partners to capitalize.
  • Support portfolio and pricing management by providing feedback on provincial goals and recommendations to optimize assortment mix and price.
  • Work in collaboration with external sales agency to set targets and review performance
  • Design objectives and implement best-in-class sales strategies (including sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes) in alignment with overall corporate planning cycles and objectives
  • Manage, support, develop internal sales resources as well as external agency resources to drive efficiency and productivity
  • Prepare monthly reports for key internal stakeholders identifying sales trends, opportunities, challenges, competitive analysis.
  • Manage multiple projects ensuring efficient timely delivery of project milestones
  • Ensure that communications between our partners and internal stakeholders are coordinated in order to support sales objectives
  • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis
  • Reviewing sales results to ensure established targets are being achieved and take corrective action where required, including revising strategies, revisiting external agency’s regional performance objectives, dealing with specific performance problems, and other actions required in order to achieve projected targets.
  • Plan and conduct sales presentations
  • Manage multiple projects ensuring efficient timely delivery of project milestones

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to set a vision, to lead change, and to lead/mentor others
  • Strong management skills including performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting and plan execution. Ability to organize, structure and staff an organization in a rapidly changing environment
  • Forward thinker with the ability to identify, synthesize and act upon strategic information and changes within the environment while managing multiple projects efficiently 
  • Strong business acumen
  • Self-starter motivated to drive continuous improvement and innovation through dedication and hard work
  • Successful experience with new market development and penetration
  • Proven track record of creating a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement
  • Competency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint

 

EDUCATION:

  • 8+ years of sales management
  • Experience in sales management in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other related fields would be an asset
