DIRECTOR, MEDICAL PRODUCT STRATEGY

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Medical sales, the Director, Medical Product Strategy will be responsible for the following: 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop sales channel analysis and reporting framework and KPIs for medical markets to drive sales and business performance
  • Lead and contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of sales plans, revenue models and forecasts
  • Provide in-depth analysis of trends, anomalies and insights in this market segment through data mining, research and field surveys 
  • Produce commentary based on data analysis to provide actionable recommendations relating to sales channel, product mix, pricing, customer segmentation and promotional decisions
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple teams across the enterprise to understand the business landscape and business processes and sharing of information
  • Maintain documentation of assumptions, methodologies and requirements of analytical deliverables  
  • Manage analysts in the delivery of reporting and analysis outputs
  • Ensure data quality and accuracy in the delivery of reporting and analysis
  • Conduct and lead research, analytical projects and market sizing initiatives as needed.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on available data sources and the appropriate methodology for conducting analysis
  • Recommend and design data management and reporting process improvements such as data compilation from disparate sources and automation
  • Instill sensitivity and awareness of data governance principles when exchanging data and providing analysis to stakeholders

  • Strong leadership skills in leading and motivating team members and external stakeholders
  • Ability to understand and summarize disease epidemiology, mechanisms, and management, clinical data, and scientific publications, and effectively put concepts into perspective and communicate relevant information to HCPs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with dynamic teams
  • Provide ongoing communications with commercial leadership and internal teams regarding network updates and accuracy of network data
  • Support field and marketing team with ongoing programs directed at Healthcare providers and patients
  • Increase product/account awareness at meetings by providing updates on key objectives  
  • Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
  • Attend meetings/conference calls to update product knowledge, share market knowledge, review progress vs. objectives, and discuss regional strategies

  • Consistent, honest and dependable with a good sense of humor

 

SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Business, Marketing, Accounting or Finance or equivalent technical degree required - advanced degree or MBA is considered an asset.
  • 8+ years minimum work experience in sales and marketing analytics in a related industry, and at least 5 years minimum experience as a manager
  • Experience in regulated and medical products industries preferred (e.g. alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals) 
  • Effectively worked in fast-paced, high growth environments preferred 
  • Experience working with unstructured datasets and disparate data sources
  • Some travel required Advanced Excel and Access database skills + MS Office applications experience e.g.  VBA Macros / SQL knowledge
  • Experience with large enterprise ERP, CRM and BI solutions and third-party data sources
