MARKETING RELATIONSHIP DIRECTOR

 

As the Marketing Relationship Director, you will act as the front-line representative of Aurora’s new Centre for Marketing Excellence, building relationships with Business Unit Stakeholders and facilitating the delivery of strategic marketing campaigns, services and solutions that meet business needs.

 

You’ll work directly with some of Canada’s most innovative marketing agencies, leading our IMC model, helping to bring Aurora’s multiple cannabis brands, new products, promotions and messaging to life in the hearts and minds of Canadians and international customers and patients.  

 

You will be responsible for creating and leading Aurora’s best-in-class Marketing Relationship Management team within the new Aurora CME and representing the CME throughout the entire organization, within Canada, internationally, and with our many subsidiaries.

 

You’ll work collaboratively with brand teams and marketing channel experts (digital, experiential, PR, creative, new product, partnerships, etc) to identify, define, and develop marketing and communications strategies to support all of our internal and external clients.

 

You’ll be involved in a gamut of exciting ‘first in the world’ work, from new product and packaging design and launch, to helping to envision and manage major, multi-million-dollar fully integrated marketing campaigns. Other areas of involvement include supporting retail store launches, working with our trade and sales teams to develop compelling field materials, and working with our award-winning social responsibility teams to help lead social and world change for the better.

 

This exciting new role includes involvement in both Canada’s fast-paced new adult-use space (working on some of Canada’s most award winning brands, including SanRaphael’71, AltaVie, and Aurora, as well as making a difference in the Medical space with top Canadian brands, Aurora Medical, MedReleaf and CanniMed.   

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and internal/external clients. These may include business leads from the following groups:
    • Medical Marketing & Sales (Aurora Medical, MedReleaf, CanniMed)
    • Recreational Marketing & Sales (Aurora Rec, SanRafael’71, AltaVie)
    • Corporate Social Responsibility Team
    • Other Internal business teams or external subsidiaries
  • Develop a strong understanding of the business goals and marketing needs across various segments and marketing channels for these business areas
  • Strong representative of the Centre for Marketing Excellence (CME) throughout the organization; pro-actively sharing information about the model and solutions offered.
  • Guide clients in the development and communication of objectives-based briefs and marketing strategy
  • Work with business leads while leveraging Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the CME team and specialists from our roster of leading agencies, to provide integrated marketing strategies, campaigns and tactics to support business units’ needs.
  • Chair project kick-off and key milestone meetings with SMEs and Business Leads to facilitate the process of developing integrated plans, understanding client asks, returning with collaborative multi-channel solutions, and executing on proposed solutions.
  • Program management of overall marketing programs, supported by specialist leads within SME groups
  • Lead development and presentation of status updates, budget reporting, campaign updates, and other key meetings and deliverables
  • Ultimately responsible for the delivery of effective, on-budget, on-time solution implementation for internal clients.
  • Leverage internal and external/agency relationships
  • Ensure prompt, courteous, professional resolution of all inquires from business stakeholders
  • Present quarterly business reports for business units highlighting successes, historical trends, efficiencies found, new capability sets, new team members, KPIs, service improvements and cost benefits
  • Champion the development of communication material sharing information about the CME internally across the organization
  • Lead a cross-departmental marketing advisory committee, identifying and listening to issues and concerns and communicating findings to CME team so actions and changes can be implemented to improve service levels
  • Manage budgets from tens of thousands- to multi-million dollars, with strong fiscal accountability
  • Create and maintain program management systems and calendars
  • Build an outstanding, best-in-class Program Management team, processes and systems, from the ground up
  • Play a strategic leadership role, reporting to the head of the CME group, working with other Director-level leads to build Aurora’s new Centre for Marketing Excellence

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • 10-15 years in marketing roles
  • Strong tier-1 Agency experience in Marketing Strategy, Account Director, Account Manager or Project Management roles
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related discipline
  • Experience in marketing strategy, campaign strategy, management of IMC processes
  • Experience in CPGs, Pharma, Beer and Spirits, or other highly regulated industries
