DIRECTOR, TOTAL REWARDS & EMPLOYEE WELLNESS

 

We’re looking for a dynamic leader to join our A-Team as our Director of Total Rewards & Employee Wellness. As a leader in your field, you have winning track record in designing and implementing compensation and benefit programs that retain and attract top talent. You know how to develop programs that are in line with our business objectives and our talent strategy and innovate to move the function forward. You are as comfortable in building a strategy as you are in rolling up your sleeves to execute it. As a people leader, you have a proven track record in developing team members and operating as a leader not just with your direct reports, but across the HR function and organization as a whole.

This role reports to the Executive Vice President, Human Resources.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and oversee compensation and benefit programs including benchmarking, pay for performance and incentive programs
  • Review & monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures recommending plan revisions, as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives
  • Own and lead the annual compensation cycle including salary planning, short- and long-term incentive plans payouts and grants, salary structure reviews, etc.
  • Maintain and improve job evaluation systems, pay structures and geographic differentials based on external and internal data reviews
  • Assist with board level reporting on Compensation practices and strategies
  • Oversee the global stock plan administration in dual listed environment
  • Conduct internal pay equity reviews to ensure our pay guidelines are adhered to
  • Define benefits programs to support employee wellness strategies
  • Maintain external relationships with vendors and advisors
  • Align external market competitiveness through labor market analysis and pay structure development to attract and retain key talent
  • Run M&A compensation due diligence and program design for new markets globally
  • Lead the design and administration of LTI program including coordination with other internal stakeholders
  • Evaluate executive positions and develop appropriate compensation recommendations
  • Support the HRBPs on employee pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ten plus years of compensation management experience with experience in Long-Term Incentive Plans (performance-based restricted share units, options, etc.)
  • Deep technical knowledge of compensation design, including incentive, and executive compensation program designs
  • Previous experience in Benefit plan design & roll-out
  • Excellent change management skills and ability to navigate leaders and employees through change initiatives
  • High sense of urgency and ability to execute
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian HR legislation and compliance requirements impacting compensation & benefits
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Highly organized with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Critical and analytical thinking
  • A track record of developing high performing teams / employees
  • A true team player who is collaborative and believes we win as a team
