Aurora Cannabis is currently seeking a Graphic Designer who is a creative problem solver, excited to tackle the complex challenges of marketing within the regulated cannabis industry. In this role the successful candidate will join our Creative team in Toronto and be involved in creative concepting and execution of designs across a wide range of formats and channels, including but not limited to; website layouts, social media content, editorial content, product packaging and print collateral. The ideal candidate will be able to see creative ideas through from concept through to execution, on time and on brief.



  • Attend creative briefings, workshops and brainstorms
  • Collaborate to translate marketing strategies into innovative, and viable creative concepts and formats, that will resonate with our target audiences and support our brand objectives
  • Create visual designs for range of formats, including; websites, social media content, email, print collateral, presentations, corporate templates and packaging
  • Present creative concepts and final artwork with strong rationale, demonstrating an understanding of business goals and consumer insights and needs
  • Create, catalogue and maintain files for all creative assets and resources
  • Image retouching and image manipulation
  • Create designs that are consistent with our brand guidelines and demonstrate a strong understanding of the restrictions of the Cannabis Act
  • Demonstrate creative excellence in ideation through to delivery
  • Ensure all creative deadlines are met and respected
  • Provide direction to production artist as needed to assist in execution
  • Work with internal clients to refine briefs and gather information as needed
  • Monitor graphic trends and innovation, researching new concepts and ideas proactively which could contribute to achieving our business objectives



  • 4+ years advertising agency experience working with traditional and digital media
  • University or College Degree (preferably in graphic design)
  • Demonstrated ability to concept on brief and produce exceptional visual designs
  • Knowledge of the Cannabis Act and how to effectively deliver compliant creative solutions to meet brand objectives
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and juggle concurrent deliverables
  • An excellent understanding of graphic design principles and industry standard software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop, design and produce content across a range of brands and formats
  • Knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and how to effectively deliver accessible design solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Consumer Packaging + Labelling Act
  • Demonstrated willingness to listen to feedback and incorporate suggestions in order to improve
  • Motion graphics and/or video editing skills an asset
  • UI/UX design experience an asset
  • Print production experience a plus
