HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER, EAST

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

As the Human Resources Business Partner, you would be responsible for recruitment and selection, retention and engagement, and employee relations. This role requires up to 30% travel across Canada.

 

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

 

This Human Resources Business Partner will report directly to the HR Director, East and provide consultation and service to the business areas in support of HR Management and employee relations. This position ensures that the Company can meet its customer service obligations by providing timely, relevant and efficient human resource services to the assigned divisions within Aurora Cannabis Inc. The Human Resources Business Partner will support the HR Director on diverse initiatives and priorities. This position will be based out of Downtown Toronto.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ability to anticipate, review & analyze trends proactively to improve employee engagement & reduce retention rates
  • Lead a team of HR professionals
  • Manage & improve all critical HR processes, which include recruiting, performance management, training and development, benefits, organization, communication and other relevant HR topics
  • Lead investigations and manage employee relations issues
  • Advance corporate HR priorities through strategic planning and emerging opportunities.
  • Working with business areas to identify and plan for human resource requirements to meet short and long-term business requirements
  • Providing consultation and advice to Managers on a variety of employee relations and human resource issues
  • Partner with leaders on M&A integration activities
  • Developing and/or supporting the execution of human resource guidelines, policies and procedures that adhere to applicable legislation, regulations, etc.
  • Preparing and distributing ad hoc HR reports upon request by Management to meet business needs
  • Providing coaching and counseling to Managers and employees where appropriate

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good understanding and knowledge of human resources principles, best practices and applicable HR legislation

National  experience more specifically experience managing locations in (Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan)

  • Experience in recruitment and selection
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, and changing corporate environment
  • Detail oriented: High attention to detail
  • Organizational skills: Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines
  • Customer service Focus: drive for service excellence
  • Advanced computer skills including experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • High degree of initiative, diplomacy and discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of staff, including Management and Executive
  • Works independently yet strong HR team player
  • Ability to travel both locally and nationally regularly

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5 to 7 years of directly related experience working for large private or publicly traded company required.
  • Experience in a management role is required
  • Experience working for a manufacturing company is required
  • Experience working for a multi-site company
  • CHRP Designation is an asset
  • Bi-Lingual ability is an asset
