INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide internal communications support to departments, including but not limited to Human Resources, Information Services, Marketing, Training and Development
  • With training provided, help build, develop and maintain intranet pages to support departments
  • Regularly create compelling content for the intranet and company newsletter to support the understanding of Aurora’s goals, progress, business plans and strategic initiatives
  • Support internal communications to ensure corporate-wide programs are effectively and efficiently communicated to all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a resource to cross-department leaders when rolling out new programs and other key internal initiatives
  • Use a creative marketing approach, with a variety of tactics, for communication initiatives to encourage greater employee engagement
  • Build and drive content, including sourcing/writing/editing for internal use; ensure content is specific to intended audience groups
  • Deliver communications that are focused on maintaining and strengthening Aurora’s culture by ensuring strategic fit and appropriate tone and messaging
  • Monitor employee feedback and topics of discussion to identify communication opportunities
     

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 2+ years of communications experience in a corporate environment
  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing or related discipline
  • Ability to influence others
  • Ability to develop internal communications strategies and implement tactics to help maintain and strengthen company culture
  • Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality
  • Exceptional research, writing, editing, layout and presentations skills
  • Experience writing/creating/producing materials across a variety of platforms (electronic, print, social media, video)
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Publisher
  • Ability to effectively tailor messaging to target different audiences and represent different presenters
  • Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail including well-developed analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Must be able to work independently and stay organized to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships internally and externally, at all levels within an organization
