MANAGER, STRATEGIC ADVOCACY INITIATIVES

Aurora Cannabis’ Advocacy and Corporate Social Responsibility team is currently seeking a strong communicator and project manager that will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing large-scale, multi-year strategic advocacy initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the co-ordination and implementation of 1-2 strategic initiatives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute large-scale strategic advocacy and educational initiatives, including complex multi-year projects and recurring events involving a wide range of global stakeholders
  • Implement and oversee projects with expert-level project management practices and tools to ensure achievement of objectives and goals
  • Co-ordinate and communicate with senior leadership, project co-ordinators, and stakeholders, while acting with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy at all times including the need to keep information confidential
  • Keep project teams on task, ensuring timelines, roles, and responsibilities are clearly and proactively communicated
  • Undertake project research, budget management, data/information-gathering, analysis, and reporting to enhance and measure impact of initiative
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in regard to strategic advocacy initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years’ experience in project management/co-ordination
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships with high-profile stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Expert-level understanding of cannabis advocacy, education, and knowledge mobilization
  • Prior experience in event management considered an asset
  • Expert-level oral and written communication skills, including writing and proof reading and the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment on multiple time zones with international travel requirements
