SENIOR ERP ARCHITECT

 

Aurora Cannabis is looking for a Senior ERP Architect to join our Information Services team in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful applicant will be a member of the Architecture team and will report to the Senior Manager of Architecture, working closely with several other IS and Business teams. The ideal candidate for this position has strong leadership skills and extensive technical experience designing enterprise level solutions, is highly innovative, and enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment. This is a full-time position.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Act as a consultant to business and IT leadership on ERP strategies.
  • Develop a multi-year strategic roadmap for ERP and/or Business Applications Portfolio.
  • Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to contribute towards planning and management of ERP initiatives in a manner that aligns with the ERP roadmap.
  • Lead or contribute to the Global Architecture design in conjunction with ERP Publisher (Sage and Sage Professional Services), Implementer, Aurora stakeholders and other consultants and/or System Integrators selected by Aurora.
  • Assist in alignment of business strategies with the portfolio architecture.
  • Audit compliance of the proposed ERP solution/enhancement with the established roadmap.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application development teams and contribute to the “abilities” initiatives (availability, reliability, scalability, security, audit, performance benchmark) for the ERP application, as required.
  • Build close relationships with Aurora’s business and IT teams to understand KPIs and IT capabilities required for strategic business benefits.
  • Act as a technology partner and advisor to Aurora’s business and IT leadership on the range of IT capabilities, solutions, and services that can address their needs.
  • Qualify and help prioritize requirements and demands.
  • Collaborate with Aurora and vendor teams to deliver innovative solutions that will increase operational agility and enable Aurora’s continued growth while supporting ongoing project activities.

 

ERP Support

 

  • Work with key stakeholders from Aurora and vendor teams to identify and analyze the root causes of performance bottleneck and/or usability issues and recommend solutions.
  • Lead a joint task force consisting of Aurora, Sage and implementor teams to focus on key issues until resolution is reached2+ years prior software testing or QA experience.

 

Analytics

 

 

Continuous Improvement

 

  • Drive continuous improvement and process simplification for current models. Identify and document system/process deficiencies and recommend areas for improvement.
  • Actively participate in creation of KPIs, executive dashboards and data integration between the ERP application and the analytics platform (ETL or ELT).
  • Collaborate with data architecture and infrastructure teams to determine optimal strategies to provide actionable insight for users to help decrease costs, increase efficiencies and strengthen competitiveness of Aurora.
  • Oversee the identification and maintenance of training requirements with respect to existing or new processes and/or technologies for the ERP function. Grow critical Sage X3 technical and functional expertise in-house within Aurora to enable high quality delivery and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure team and vendors to conduct ERP application benchmark(s).
  • Collaborate with infrastructure team, application team and vendors for root-cause analysis, as required.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams for the Application Performance Monitoring (APM) initiative.
  • Provide insight, guidance, and recommendations throughout the evolution of applications, systems, and/or processes to a desired future state by maintaining and leveraging a comprehensive understanding of how current processes impact business operations across the enterprise.
  • Influences solution design by providing insight and consultation at design sessions with IT teams to help translate requirements into workable business solutions.

 

Vendor Management

 

  • Drive technical evaluation of identified 3rd-party vendor solutions.
  • Vendor management for ERP licensing, consulting and offshoring, as required.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 10+ years in an Architecture role
  • At least 10 years of experience in ERP implementations and operations such as Sage, SAP, Workday or Microsoft Dynamics Suite of products
  • Hands-on experience in implementing 3-4 large-scale ERP implementations
  • Experience in relational databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle etc.
  • Detailed functional knowledge of one or more ERP modules/areas, particularly Finance ( GL, AR & AP), Inventory, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Job costing
  • Previous experience as a lead solutions architect and/or technical lead for several large ERP implementations across various modules
  • Strong hands on skills and expert knowledge of modern technologies & designs and iterative implementation approaches.
  • Previous experience in developing detailed SDLC documentation
  • Experience in developing and prototyping technology solutions as well as developing specifications for new products/services, applications.
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors or contractors to execute projects.
  • Proven capabilities in project management.
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms related to the Finance ERP solutions
