SENIOR MANAGER, MEDICAL MARKETING

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Medical Marketing to join our growing team.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Sets the strategic direction for the Medical Brand portfolio nationally and develop the annual operating plan across all elements of the marketing mix in line with the company’s strategic plan. Monitors and reports on business plans and budgets.
  • Utilizes syndicated and independent research, market analysis, industry reading/exposure/experience, marketing and industry conferences and symposiums to develop a deep understanding into the consumer, the category, the competition and the brand to improve strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Leads new product development from ideation to commercialization. Drives activity management and project management from concept to launch to ensure excellence in execution across the broader organization and manufacturing network.
  • Responsible for building long term vibrant global & regional brand identity together with revenue and margin growth.
  • In addition to leading the brand team, is responsible for leading a cross functional business team in delivering against key business metrics.
  • Responsible for profit and loss and annual plan KPI delivery within an S&OP process environment.
  • Leads the omnichannel strategy and plan for the brand, working effectively with Executive stakeholders and agencies to seamlessly communicate with consumers.
  • Possesses and/or develops strong knowledge of the industry and products. Stays abreast of the latest developments in terms of markets and products domestically, internationally and across the organization.
  • Positively influences key colleagues/stakeholders in senior Sales, Operations, Research, Regulatory, Finance, and Business Intelligence roles.
  • Fosters a team of engaged and high performing people, including development, coaching and overall performance and talent management of direct and indirect reports; championing a culture aligned to the vision and leadership imperatives.
  • Builds marketing organization capabilities and bench strength. A strong coach and mentor for direct and dotted line reports aligned to their professional development, including areas of opportunity.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: University degree, Bachelor’s degree in a Business oriented field with a major in Marketing or a related business discipline. A MBA or relevant experience is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive Marketing experience with 3+ years of experience in management

role(s) within a top tiered CPG environment.

  • Strong foundation in classically trained brand management, leadership profile that speaks to authentic leadership and drive for results through “one team”.
  • Marketing career experience within the cannabis or wine/ alcohol beverage sector would be an asset.

  • This role requires experience and capability across all areas of the marketing mix including innovation and creative development. The successful candidate will have experience in creating” not just “adapting” as this is a stand-alone Global Canadian company not a multi-national.

  • Possess strong understanding of market positioning and strategy development and brand development.
  • Experience in successfully leading new product development and innovation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to build value to generate demand and brand loyalty through consumer idea leadership, new product management, advertising, media, packaging, consumer promotions, consumer insight analysis, marketing analytics and 1 to 1 marketing.
  • Ability to communicate and lead organizational and portfolio vision, goals, and priorities at senior levels inside and outside the immediate team for executional excellence and optimal results.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills.
  • Breakthrough thinker with a track record of delivering innovative business solutions.
  • Strong leader. Positive track record of people management that speaks to leading, coaching, assessing, and developing others for the organization’s leadership pipeline.
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
