SENIOR MANAGER, MEDICAL TRADE SALES

 

We are hiring for goal-oriented Senior Medical Trade Manager to join the A-team. The successful candidate is responsible for support field sales trade strategy in driving Brand awareness with health care professionals, patients, institutions, hospitals and payers.

 

The Senior Manager, Medical Trade will focus on leading, developing and overseeing all aspects of an organization's medical sales trade initiatives.

 

MAIN RESPONSILBITIES:

  • Create and lead the trade marketing strategy.
  • Determine the sales trade budgets and ensure that the team stays within budget
  • Co-ordinate the field campaign executions
  • Continually identify and improve the product positioning and core customer segments
  • Act as a link between the sales and marketing
  • Develop and support relationships across the organization as well as with key external stakeholders and the healthcare community at large.
  • Reporting on data and industry trends relating to trade categories.
  • Creating trade sales plans for individual products and product ranges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of specific account nationally with a cross- functional team approach, sound account strategies and tactics and effective allocation of resources.
  • Optimize product pull through collaboration with all stakeholders with a focus on increasing physician prescribing, retaining patients and increasing referral rates, order size, patient retention and participation rates
  • Oversee regional issues & opportunities, anticipating changes in the healthcare landscape, and act as the expert/problem solver for medical cannabis sales seam. 
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key customer segments and thought leaders to improve patient access in a manner consistent and compliant with company policies and requirements 
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of sales through the direct sales channel. Working with sales team, marketing, advertising, logistics, managers, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same client account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all client needs met
  • Provide ongoing communications with commercial leadership and internal teams regarding network updates and accuracy of network data
  • Support field sales team with ongoing programs directed at Healthcare providers and patients
  • Increase product/account awareness at meetings by providing updates on key objectives 
  • Able to problem solve and negotiate
  • Research about the current marketing trends and keep tabs on competitors
  • Required to travel 20%-30%

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Leadership skills. Required to inspire and manage your team and also make executive-level presentations and both of these tasks require good leadership skills.

  • Computer Skills:  familiar with the software programs for word processing, spreadsheet analysis and financial analysis.

  • Willingness to travel; willing to travel 20-30% when and where the job demands.

  • Works independently: limited guidance/oversight. Works broadly across functions to facilitate and support the affiliate’s medical and clinical activities as necessary.

 

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

 

  • Strong understanding of the selling process with healthcare professionals, clinics, pharmacy, LTC and payers. 
  • Minimum 8-10 years of biotech/pharmaceutical experience with physicians, clinics, pharmacy, key account, and market access.
  • Possess a good understanding of product distribution and overall understanding of the Canadian Health care system and life science experience is a prerequisite
  • Strong collaborator and ability to create stakeholder trust at different levels in the Health Care system
  • Strong Influence/Persuasion/Negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication/Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, written and spoken communication
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Fluent in French would be an asset
