Job summary

Cultivation Leads, based out of Thrive facility, are responsible for carrying out all duties as required by Cultivation Supervisor, or Management, that pertain to plant work, transplanting, harvesting, grow room maintenance, cleaning of grow rooms between production rounds. The role of the Cultivation Lead is to assist the Cultivation Supervisor in carrying out supervision of tasks and to act as a leader in the absence of the Cultivation Supervisor. They will be heavily involved in the training of new Production Associates. The role requires strong leadership skills to motivate team members and meet the performance expectations as outlined by management, or the cultivation supervisor.

 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  •  Planting of all production lots within grow rooms and ensuring tasks are complete to the expectation communicated by Cultivation Supervisor
  •  All pruning and deleafing events within grow rooms
  • Sanitation of equipment used in pruning and deleafing events 
  •  Overseeing destruction events as they pertain to daily tasks
  •  Maintenance of equipment within grow rooms
  •  Reporting of malfunctioning equipment to Plant Work Supervisor
  •  Sanitation of grow rooms and equipment within grow rooms between production lots
  •   Sanitation of dry rooms, trim rooms and equipment
  •   Harvesting of production lots
  •   Post-harvest trimming of production lots
  •  Application bio stimulants  
  •  Delegating and participating in IPM Scouting and application of biological controls, including pesticides
  •  Training of Production associates
  •   Leading the team to complete activities to the high standards required by SOPs
  •   Reporting unsafe practices to Cultivation Supervisors/management
  •    Providing coaching and feedback to production associates
  •   Documentation all activities listed above
  •    Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge and Education: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  •  Adhere to the company code of conduct and all applicable SOPs
  • Knowledge of required theory and practices related to the Cannabis Industry
  •  Demonstrate a continued level of development and improvement of skills/knowledge to help better complete your duties
  • Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
  •  High level of accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  •  Ability and desire to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability and desire to lead
  •  Farming experience is an asset
  •  Post secondary in agriculture is an asset
