JOB SUMMARY
As a Technician in Extraction, you will play a vital role in the production process of extracting compounds from raw materials and formulated finished products from bulk cannabis extract. Working in a laboratory or manufacturing setting, you will operate extraction equipment, monitor processes, formulate finished goods and contribute to the overall success of the extraction/formulation team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Extraction Operations: Execute hydrocarbon extraction processes according to established protocols, utilizing various methods and techniques.
2. Formulation Operations: Formulating/Blending bulk cannabis extract to produce a finished product.
3. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain extraction equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety guidelines.
4. Quality Control: Monitor and control process parameters to ensure the consistency and quality of extracted materials.
5. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of extraction processes, including batch records, logs, and any relevant documentation.
6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and contribute to the development and improvement of safety protocols.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with team members, including scientists, quality control technicians, and production staff, to achieve common goals and troubleshoot issues.
8. Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of extraction equipment and workspaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
9. Compliance: Follow regulatory guidelines and compliance standards related to extraction processes in the industry.

1. Operational Efficiency: Accountable for executing extraction and formulation processes efficiently and contributing to the overall productivity of the extraction team.
2. Quality Assurance: Accountable for maintaining high-quality standards in extracted materials.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1. Extraction Techniques: Understanding of various extraction methods, equipment, and related technologies.
2. Safety Protocols: Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
3. Record Keeping: Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of extraction processes.
4. Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective collaboration within the extraction team.
5. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues during the extraction process.
EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional education in chemistry, biology, or a related field is advantageous.
2. Previous experience in a similar role in extraction, preferably in the cannabis, pharmaceutical, or natural products industry is a plus.
3. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory requirements is a plus.
4. Training or certification in extraction techniques or equipment operation is a plus.
5. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment, and work in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
6. Knowledge of relevant software applications for record-keeping and monitoring processes (MS Office Suite, Internet Browser, etc…)
