Job Summary

We’re searching for an ambitious leader to plant their roots with us as our newest Director, E-Commerce. In this role, you will report into the Senior Vice-President, Commercial Canada and with a unique opportunity to shape the digital customer experience and drive significant growth for Aurora’s medical cannabis eCommerce channel.

 

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of our online patients and customers and will lead the curation of an eCommerce assortment that provides excitement and growth for our business. You'll be responsible for developing and executing data-driven strategies to expand into new categories, optimize category performance, identify emerging trends, and leverage digital merchandising and marketing tactics to drive sales and profitability. You will manage a diverse portfolio inclusive of website operations, reporting, and automation platforms to drive customer acquisition and retention and open the world to cannabis. As the Director, E-Commerce you will be involved in …

  • Identifing and refining strategies to attract and motivate customer purchases, realize maximum profitability, grow market share, while increasing customer loyalty.
  • Analyzing market data, customer insights, and competitor activity to create unique and competitive promotional opportunities, including first to market initiatives and exclusive listings.
  • Collaborating with technology and development team to help define and roadmap a/b tests, new site capabilities, enhancements and overall improvement opportunities.
  • Implementing UX research methodologies to predict user behavior, optimize web-site layouts, improve functionality, and tailor the user’s omnichannel experience.
  • Owning front-end web governance, ensuring content, product merchandising, key functionality, layout and overall U/X are monitored and maintained daily. 
  • Instilling a test culture while leveraging channel performance and customer KPI’s to drive planning, investment, and continuous optimization.
  • Developing strategies to maximize basket size, reduce abandonment rates, and drive sales.
  • Ensuring we have clear channels for patient feedback on our site, its layout, functionality, with the goal of having a high level of patient satisfaction with our e-commerce platform.
  • Monitoring and analyze category performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to maximize results.
  • Defining and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and continuously refine e-commerce effectiveness.
  • Staying ahead of the curve on emerging trends and digital innovations within the eCommerce landscape.
  • Mentoring, support and engage a team of high performing professionals to deliver best in class solutions for our patients and customers.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team including but not limited to marketing, business intelligence, IT, product strategy, and operations to drive marketing efforts across all products. 

 

You would be the best fit for this role if you have…

  • An MBA with prior work experience in B2B or B2C with D2C
  • 10 + years working in business and digital transformational projects with diverse experience leveraging acquisition and retargeting efforts
  • 5 + years leading high performing e-commerce or digital teams
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as Business Administration or Marketing (we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Proven track record of leveraging Shopify to build and enhance e-commerce experiences
  • Prior work experience in a regulated environment within distinct creative boundaries
  • Robust e-commerce knowledge within a variety of areas including but not limited to SEO, SEM, project and technology management (U/X design, CMS, Online Marketplaces and CRMS), social paid ads, GA4, Tag Manager and Studio
