Job Summary
The IT Project Manager, Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering information technology initiatives that support Aurora’s operational, supply chain, and quality functions. Reporting to the Director, IT Operations and Supply Chain, this role manages projects across the system development life cycle, from initiation through implementation and stabilization, in accordance with organizational standards and governance requirements.
The role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring operational requirements are clearly defined, appropriately prioritized, and translated into scalable technology solutions. The IT Project Manager, Operations oversees project execution, monitors progress against schedules and budgets, manages risks and dependencies, and ensures deliverables meet defined quality and compliance expectations.
This position also contributes to continuous improvement efforts by supporting system enhancements, process optimization initiatives, and post-implementation evaluations. As the Manager, IT Supply Chain you will be involved in …
• Focused on working with key stakeholders to support Aurora’s cultivation, processing, quality and ancillary applications, processes and projects including ongoing maintenance and roll-out of new modules and solutions to support the business
• Strong business expertise, a keen understanding of business needs, and ability to ensure technical solutions, strategies, practices, and deliver business and customer value.
• Balance business users’ requests and requirements with technical constraints
• Creating functional specifications and facilitating the completion, testing and deployment of solutions
• Lead and participate in design and architecture sessions with key business users, gathering and documenting business processes and requirements for the system
• As a Workstream Lead, assist Program Manager in the direction and planning of all aspects of a project including gathering and defining comprehensive project requirements, ensuring strategic alignment, developing project charters, project plans, resource plans, presentations, budgets, and schedules
• Work with business leaders and stakeholders to deliver projects
• Prepare project plans, project schedules, risk mitigation and status reporting within Aurora’s project management standards and methodologies
• Coordinate all activities of the project team to drive accountability in ensuring project tasks to completion; develop/maintain key documents and information sharing across relevant stakeholders
• Work with internal support members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Review and resolve concerns regarding issues and performance of the project
• Ensure all project evidence is gathered and stored on the shared Project repository
• Ensure all deliverables are approved and available for periodic audit requests
• Identifies project risks and ensures strategies are in place for each to prevent adverse impacts to the successful delivery of the project
• Maintain RAID (Risk, Action, Issue, Decision) Log and be proactive with risk identification
• Work with the PMO to continue to develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
• Delegates tasks to appropriate project team members and ensure on-time completion
• Leads project team members and influence them to take positive action and accountability and ensure appropriate quality for their assigned work
• Develop and implement effective reporting to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed on key project metrics
• Lead, perform and/or support Business Analyst duties such as mapping processes for current and future state, documenting requirements, interviewing stakeholders, developing system specifications, etc
• Support organizational change initiatives by contributing to change impact assessments, readiness planning, and post-implementation adoption activities
• Partner with training and business teams to ensure end users are prepared through appropriate documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer
• Participate in vendor evaluation, selection, and onboarding processes, including statement of work reviews and performance monitoring
• Ensure projects align with IT governance standards, data integrity principles, and cybersecurity best practices
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve system usability, and reduce operational risk
• Contribute to roadmap planning and prioritization discussions for operations and supply chain technology initiatives
• Monitor dependencies across concurrent initiatives and proactively manage cross-project impacts
• Support post-implementation reviews to assess outcomes, benefits realization, and lessons learned
• Ensure projects comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations applicable to the cannabis industry
• Collaborate with Quality, Compliance, and Security teams to ensure systems meet validation, documentation, and traceability standards where required
• Maintain appropriate controls for change management, access management, and data accuracy within project scope
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing timely and complete project documentation and evidence

You would be the best fit for this role if you have…
• 5+ years of project management experience
• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience
• Proven ability to deliver clear and concise project documentation
• Experience with Supply Chain methodology, process, procedures, and related systems.
• Experience with Business Intelligence & Data Science, Software and Application Development, and/or Infrastructure projects is considered an asset
• PMI Certification is preferred
• Experience working in a regulated manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or consumer packaged goods environment
• Familiarity with ERP, MES, quality management, or warehouse management systems
• Exposure to system validation, CSV, or GxP concepts is considered an asset
• Experience working in hybrid project environments including waterfall and agile delivery models
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing business environment

• Experience using project and portfolio management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Azure DevOps
• Demonstrated experience developing project estimates across varying levels of scope, complexity, and budget
• Proven capability to manage both small and large-scale projects through all phases of delivery
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of management, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to guide project teams, remove obstacles, and manage project risks
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and facilitate effective collaboration among subject matter experts
• Strong functional and or technical understanding of project scope and related business processes
• Demonstrated ability to forecast and plan resource requirements effectively
• Proven success delivering application-based projects from initiation through implementation
• Ability to assume ownership of projects in progress and drive them to successful completion
• Strong analytical skills with experience documenting business requirements, processes, data, and systems. Prior experience in a Business Analyst role
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, initiative, and motivation to take on challenges
