Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, the Manager of Financial Reporting will be responsible for managing day to day activities of the financial reporting team. He or she will implement new financial accounting and reporting standards, prepare accounting policies and technical accounting memos, prepare supporting schedules for external reporting purposes; and implement reporting best practices. As the Director, Financial Reporting you will be involved in …
• Key person for preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, MD&A, and related public disclosure
• Support the review and approval of quarterly and annual filings with external auditors, legal counsel and the Audit Committee;
• Mentor, manage, and develop Sr. Accountant, Financial Reporting.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and ongoing continuous disclosure requirements;
• Assess and document the accounting impact and required disclosures for major transactions, including significant contracts, acquisitions, debt and equity offerings and other complex transactions.
• Support the timely closure of technical accounting matters with external auditors through the preparation of accounting memos and consultations;
• Support the preparation and review of working papers, including but not limited to, equity, leases, and intangible assets.
• Liaise with external consultants on various corporate matters;
• Comply with internal controls over financial reporting as required by SOX and NI 52-109;
• Assist with accounting and financial due diligence on acquisitions and strategic investments;
You would be the best fit for this role if you have…
• University degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field;
• Professional accounting designation is required - CPA/CA is preferred;
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial reporting preferably at a publicly traded company;
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Sage X3 experience an asset) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Thorough knowledge of IFRS as well as continuous disclosure requirements;
• Superior knowledge of Excel and analytical reporting tools;
• Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements;
• Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all levels of the organization; and
• Strong ethical compass in all business decision-making and interpersonal relationships.
