Business Analyst, Financial Projects

 

The Business Analyst, Financial Projects will work with project managers on transformational change projects to deliver best in class finance processes that are scalable with Aurora’s domestic and international growth plans. In this fast paced role, you will work across a diverse set of stakeholders to ensure their business needs are understood and there is alignment with financial processes and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of key finance processes and frameworks that are scalable for a large, international company
  • Assist in the identification and solutioning of finance improvement opportunities
  • Perform analysis of financial data, complete process documentation and work instructions
  • Develop business requirements for technology solutions, support testing requirements and support the training programs associated with the change
  • Support project managers with the pipeline of identified opportunities, prioritization and focus areas, planning, building and managing project schedule/budgets, and reporting on project risks/issues and benefits realized to date
  • Liaise with key stakeholder groups across the company with respect to financial project initiatives
  • Exercise a continuous improvement mindset to support a world-class Finance organization
  • Assist in the development & maintenance of project charters, reports and other project management documents
  • Research and identify best practices relevant to finance
  • Special projects as needed varying in length and complexity

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field.
  • Exposure to strong, efficient Finance process cycles in a large, international company environment.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent, or knowledge and experience with LEAN and Six Sigma is an asset.
  • Experience of change management methodologies PROSCI would be an asset
  • Project management experience is preferred working as part of a project team or coordinator/ project manager role
  • Experience with ERP applications is an asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a business process improvement or special projects
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Display team work & integrity
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment and comfortable in a dynamic environment without routine.
  • Sound business acumen with demonstrated ability to manage interpersonal relationships across various levels of stakeholders.
  • Availability to travel within and outside of Canada, on occasion
