As a Data Scientist and a member of the Data Science & Analytics team, the successful candidate is an innovative data enthusiast who has deep knowledge and strong track record in using machine learning, statistics and predictive analytics to support strategic decision making and operational efficiency.


You will assume a pivotal role in a wide range of data driven initiatives and collaborate with business leaders and data analysts to advance Aurora’s business through data mining and development of autonomous decision-making solutions. You are comfortable with creating a close working relationship with business stakeholders across functional areas, developing a deep understanding of corporate data landscape and assisting with identifying opportunities to unlock value through data.

You will use your domain expertise in feature engineering and leverage statistical modelling and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for data mining. You will build classification and regression models to enhance Aurora’s datasets and provide predictive capabilities as a service to other departments in the company. Your solutions, code and model structure will set the standard in terms of design choices, interpretability, and future extensibility.

  • Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and work closely with Data Analysts, Engineers and BI Developers to ensure business needs are addressed.
  • Use iterative framework such as CRISP-DM to design and execute data mining projects.
  • Develop, deploy and maintain classification and regression ML models primarily based on transactional and time series data.
  • Use advanced knowledge of statistics to design experiments and validate statistical significance of insights prior sharing them with decision makers.
  • Act as a mentor for data analytics professionals both within and outside of your team.




  • 5 years of experience in development of machine learning and data mining solutions using libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost, Statsmodels or similar.
  • Expert in Python or R language with focus on advanced data analytics.
  • Proven experience using cloud storage and services for data analytics (Data Lake, Databricks, Spark). Preferably within Azure environment, but AWS and Google cloud experience will be considered as well.
  • Proven experience in serving, versioning and monitoring ML models using services such as ML Flow, Kubernetes, Docker or similar.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries.
  • Understanding of data visualizations principles and working knowledge of data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, ggplot.
  • Hands on experience with Microsoft Power Suite - Power Apps and Power BI is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong Agile project execution experience with proven ability to prioritize and manage time.
  • Display teamwork and integrity with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, and directly influence them in a positive and effective manner.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment and be comfortable in a dynamic, high growth environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to meet tight deadlines.
