DIRECTOR, SPECIALIZED SALES 

The Market Development Team is looking for a Director of Specialized Sales to join our team. This position will be based out of our Toronto or Vancouver corporate office. The successful candidate will focus on business to business sales as well as white label partnerships across Canada. The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a client acquisition and retention strategy resulting in a steady flow of new leads while also maintaining existing relationships.
  • Effective questioning, probing and engagement with the client leading to a robust understanding of our partner’s business needs and ultimately a successful sales cycle.
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders as well as prospective business partners in order to negotiate and secure contracts.
  • Develop and maintain a wholesale product catalogue along with pricing, service standards and terms.
  • Work with the Demand and Production Planning Teams to create and maintain demand forecasts to ensure client needs are met.
  • Explore unique partnership opportunities for developing new product lines or line extensions for our clients.
  • Collects and analyzes key trends and opportunities in the cannabis wholesale market to help shape Aurora’s strategy and deliver a competitive advantage.
  • Utilize sales data and insights to manage, develop, and serve existing as well as new accounts.
  • Builds and maintains excellent relationships both internally and externally in order to maximize wholesale opportunities.
  • Maintains a current list of prospective partners that identifies the size of the opportunity as well as actions necessary to secure the contract.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across departments in the execution of all assignments, roles and responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years’ experience conducting sales in business-to-business environment
  • 5+ years senior management experience in a business-to-business environment
  • Strong familiarity with negotiating service and supply agreements in a consumer-packaged goods environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or relevant field; preference given to those with a master’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Proven track record in achieving sales quotas and KPI’s
  • Previous experience in cannabis, beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods, and/or co-packing industries would be considered an asset
  • Results-oriented, process driven leader
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
  • Ability to regularly travel in Canada
