ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking for an ELECTRO-MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN to work with our industrial design and device teams in the fast-paced cannabis industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new product and technology development projects related to industrial design are delivered on schedule.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment
  • Test performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
  • Operate metalworking machines to make housings, fittings, and fixtures
  • Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments
  • Install and mount low voltage electrical components
  • Wiring of low voltage electrical components
  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices within the assembly area
  • Clean and organize work spaces at end of shift
  • Communicate effectively with Project Manager, Production Manager and Executive Management
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required

  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook)
  • Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge

  • Enjoys a multi-faceted and dynamic work environment
  • Able to prioritize and be flexible while maintaining efficiency

  • Problem solving and analysis

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Post-Secondary education in the field of Electrical and/or Electronics/Instrumentation from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience
  • Experience with hand tools, electrical components and/or soldering considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC’s and HMI’s would be considered an asset
  • Experience in a circuit board and unit assembly environment is preferred
