AURORA Cannabis  is seeking a Manager, National Procurement (Canada) to support the development and execution of our sourcing strategies within Canada. Based in Vancouver BC, the National Purchasing Manager will lead our facilities buyer teams  and will be required to participate in supplier negotiations, contracts development and management across our multiple product requirements. Additionally, the National Purchasing Manager will set and realize cost-saving initiatives and ensure inventory levels align with the needs of our 18 sales branches.


Reporting to the Global Director of Procurement, the key responsibilities of the National Purchasing Manager Canada include:

  • Manage procurement staff to meet procurement team scorecard metrics and goals
  • Regularly support the purchasing team in evaluating vendors, items, and programs to meet the needs of AURORA
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching and support to procurement staff and other staff in support of procurement management
  • Manage the ongoing functionality of the Procurement processes and department
  • Implement new supplier deal and cost changes as required
  • Work with the management team to identify potential new product category listings
  • Review and approve all new item listing
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, both within departments and across the organization, ensuring a smooth process and successful outcomes
  • Draw on a wide range of sources of insight to ensure success, including stakeholder interviews (internal and external), quantitative analyses, and qualitative case studies
  • Communicate clearly and concisely about the initiatives you’re leading, both in writing (memo, presentation, etc.) and verbally (team-wide meetings, smaller conversations, etc.)
  • Conduct high priority analyses (using both quantitative and qualitative approaches) that are relevant to project processes and outcomes
  • Develop, amend, and implement purchasing policies and procedures as required



  • 5+ years of purchasing management experience
  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce or another applicable field.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) designation. 
  • Business leader, diligent, independent process thinker
  • Post-secondary education in a related area of study
  • Detailed and accurate with the ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Note: Travel will be required for this position.
