Manager, Regional Sales (West)

 

The Manager, Regional Sales (West) will be responsible for leading a high-performance sales team to effectively achieve business objectives in the medical community in geographically defined area.  The position will report directly to the National Medical Cannabis Sales Manager and will work in a collaborative environment with our sales & marketing team to maximize revenue opportunities, optimize profits and manage expenses. The individual will increase the company’s sales and market share by building strategic relationships in the healthcare community.  Manager, Regional Sales (West)  will established relationships with other internal staff functions to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused to support selling objectives.The ideal Manager, Regional Sales (West)  must be a dynamic, high-energy individual with proven organization and time management skills. They will exhibit exceptional communication skills and have the ability to ensure that key stakeholders within the company receive all relevant sales, customer, and product information during the product development and sales process. This person will be professional and customer oriented, with ability to meet or exceed company annual sales goals and to manage multiple priorities and work on various projects with different teams simultaneously with variable and flexible schedules. This person will have a proven track record of successfully leading sales teams.

 

This position is a field base position located in Vancouver or Edmonton/Calgary and will require up to 50% travel.

 

Main Job Duties

  • Lead sales team members to achieve sales targets
  • Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with healthcare professionals, clinics, pharmacy chain head offices, patient groups and professional associations.  
  • Proactively identify changes in healthcare, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts
  • Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.
  • Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies.
  • Attend clinical meetings, seminars, and conferences as appropriate
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and suggest improvements
  • Prepare weekly, biweekly, monthly and quarterly and annuals reports
  • Provide timely and effectively solutions aligned with company and clients needs
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product managers to ensure brand consistency
  • Stay up-to-date with new product launches and ensure sales teams members are on board

 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of proven work experience as a Regional Sales Manager
  • Experience managing a high-performance sales team
  • Ability to understand and analyze sales performance and activity metrics
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving attitude
  • BSc degree in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field
  • Proven business analysis and judgment with the ability to pro-actively manage business
  • Demonstrate ability to professionally develop and coach team members
  • Knowledge and experience working with regulated product is an asset and will determine suitability
