Reporting to the Scientist, Analytical Chemistry Lead, the Scientist, Analytical Chemistry will prepare and perform analysis of samples on LC, GC and ICPMS systems, including setting up sample runs and data approval. When appropriate, the Scientist, Analytical Chemistry will assist with method development, validation and implementation of new analytical testing methods. In addition, you will participate in the Quality Control (QC) analysis of data prepared by the Data Integrity Team.

 

SCIENTIST, ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and standard test methods (STMs), perform sample preparation of cannabis samples for various chemistry-based assays;
  • Perform analysis of samples on LC, GC and ICPMS systems, including setting up sample runs and processing and quality control (QC) analysis of the data;
  • Document test procedures and summarize results in reports to Anandia management and clients;
  • As required, coordinate required maintenance, calibration, and qualification of instruments;
  • When appropriate assist with method development, validation and implementation of new analytical testing methods; 
  • Use LIMS to track samples and report data;
  • Contribute to general lab operations and organization;
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Team to keep SOPs and standard test methods STMs up to date and complete incident investigations for OOS/OOT, deviations and client complaints;
  • Maintain the quality and availability of routine reagents and standards;
  • Present and discuss data and results in team meetings; and
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • BSc in Chemistry or related discipline;
  • 3+ years experience in an analytical laboratory;
  • Experience in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting UPLC-UV, LC-MS/MS, GCMS and GCMSMS
  • Knowledge and experience with Waters’s MassLynx and Agilent’s MassHunter 
  • Ability to carry out proper laboratory techniques;
  • Energetic personality who can work independently in a multi-tasking fast-paced environment;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to understand and follow test methods;
  • Willing to work flexible hours; 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
