Senior Analyst, Enterprise Risk and Assurance

The Senior Analyst, Enterprise Risk and Assurance will be based in Vancouver, and will be responsible for the supporting the overall development and operationalization of the Company’s Enterprise Risk and Assurance function, an integrated function delivering strategic enterprise risk management and internal audit support to senior leadership and the Audit Committee. He or she will contribute to the success of Aurora’s strategic and operational objectives by identifying areas of improvement and providing sound advice to strengthen risk management practices, internal controls, processes and procedures.

 The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

 Main Responsibilities:

  • Support risk assessments at the enterprise and business unit level
  • Lead and support the planning, execution and reporting of enterprise risk consulting and assurance engagements
  • Review and assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Company’s risk management practices, internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Support the maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including assessing changes to risk profiles based on external factors and corresponding management practices
  • Identify and evaluate control gaps and provide pragmatic recommendations for improvement
  • Support and lead the preparation of reports, presentations and updates to senior management and audit committee
  • Perform follow-up reviews with management on the status of outstanding internal audit issues
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the cannabis industry, business changes and regulatory developments
  • Assist with special projects and investigations as requested by senior management, Audit Committee or the Board



  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Professional designation preferred (CPA, CIA, CRMA, CISA, or CFE)
  • Strong knowledge of IIA professional practice framework and COSO and COBIT frameworks
  • Experience with IT auditing considered an asset (CISA, CISSP)
  • Minimum five (5) years enterprise risk, audit and/or investigative experience, preferably in a SOX environment with progressively senior responsibilities for project and team management
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently with a breadth of subject-matter focus
  • Self-motivated and exercises sound business acumen with a high level of autonomy
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to foster relationships, build trust, and lead reporting to senior-level management and oversight functions
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Availability to travel within and outside of Canada, on occasion
