SENIOR DIRECTOR, PRODUCT PORTFOLIO

 

Reporting to the VP, Sales Strategy (Adult Usage), the Senior Director, Product Portfolio in the Market Development division will champion the needs of the cannabis consumer by leading Aurora’s portfolio of products across all brands and markets through strategic planning, analytics, and opportunity assessment. They will also lead the team that supports business growth through industry leading retail category management services. The Senior Director will work with key stakeholders to provide a holistic view of evolving offerings and opportunities and manage the lifecycle of Aurora’s assortment.  This position plays a key role in growing the business to increase customer lifetime value.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Strategic Planning: build long-term strategic plans focusing on a consumer-centric product strategy through synthesizing data and input from multiple stakeholders
  • Develop and oversee portfolio roadmap incorporating trends, drivers and winning actions,
  • Work closely with our insights and analytics teams to maintain optimal assortment (including sku rationalization and new sku introductions) across all brands and channels
  • Work closely with product development and operations teams to develop and deliver the right products at the right time
  • Work with the cultivation and planning teams to manage the lifecycle of Aurora’s strains
  • Work closely with the sales & marketing teams to promote demand generation through the product lifecycle including launching, activations and promotional activity, and discontinuance
  • Provide insights and recommendations for product/retail strategies
  • Work closely with the demand planning team to identify opportunities and provide input in demand planning activities
  • Work with the innovation team to continue supporting the lifecycle of products launched through the innovation pipeline
  • Support sales team in promoting demand generation through developing and maintaining category management services for our customer base
  • Build out cross functional processes and guidelines to ensure the ongoing information flow and success of Aurora’s portfolio

  • Strong ability in translating market data and insights into actionable plans and deliverables
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a high-growth environment with dynamic responsibilities and continually shifting priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to lead diverse and cross functional groups, including strong relationship management skills
  • Keen project management skills with an ability to interact with and motivate others to succeed on several fronts simultaneously
  • Prioritizes workload and meets deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication on all levels and both internally and externally
  • Strong analytical, technical and quantitative abilities
  • Demonstrates initiative with a results orientation, while exhibiting strong drive and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker
  • Ability to regularly travel within Canada

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

 

  • 8+ years in progressive category management/product management roles for packaged goods
  • 5+ years senior management experience in category management within a complex multi-category/portfolio role in a related industry (CPG, pharmaceuticals, wellness products etc.)
  • Experience in portfolio management in a manufacturing/operational driven environment
  • Experience growing and leading teams in a high-growth and dynamic industry
  • Advanced experience with standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
