SITE ACCOUNTANT, Whistler/Pemberton

 

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently looking to hire a Site Accountant to join our team at our Whistler/Pemberton production facility in Whistler, British Columbia. Reporting to the Operational Finance Controller, West, the Site Accountant is responsible for inventory tracking and reporting, regulatory reporting, and the calculation and reporting of other key performance indicators and production performance metrics. Additionally, the Site Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis to the leadership team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • General accounting, monthly and quarterly financial reports and facility-based reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts including financing transactions, intercompany transactions and revenue accounts for the facility
  • Inventory accounting including inventory management, production costing, production forecasting and analysis
  • Ensure WIP inventory is accurately tracked and transferred through the production system
  • Prepare reports for operational managers in order to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis on production and cost amounts
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end working papers for the facility and financial reports and assist with period end closes, audits and reviews
  • Assist in budget preparation and cash flow projections for the facility
  • Prepare various ad-hoc reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, SOX, internal controls, and other accounting policies
  • Assist with the maintenance and implementation of internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Provide support to Operational Finance Controllers and Corporate Controller
  • Other special projects / duties as required

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration
  • Enrollment in or completion of CPA or other professional accounting program
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of full cycle accounting in a high-volume environment preferably in the manufacturing or related industry
  • Excellent overall verbal and written communication skills
  • Public company experience working in IFRS would be an asset
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience working with accounting software
  • Experience working with ERP software would be an asset
  • Flexibility to assist with various tasks within the finance team environment
